My Favorite Camping Gear

Here’s a list of some of my favorite camping items! All can be found at REI.com - links below.

Kelty Discovery Basecamp Tent

$119.95

You can purchase this for 4 people or for 6 and I personally love the 4 person tent because it fits me, my husband, and the dog comfortably. Easy to set up too!

REI Co-Op Flexlite Air Chair

$99.95

Camping chairs are a luxury if you have space. I don’t bring backpacking or remote camping necessarily, but whenever I have room I bring it! So nice getting to sit by the campfire in a chair rather than on a rock or log. I also bring this chair with me to sit in the river. Highly recommend purchasing.

REI HunkerDown Sleeping Bag

$199

You need a good sleeping bag and a down bag is the way to go. I personally like this style of sleeping bag because I like having room for my feet to move around a bit. This bag is rated for 20 degrees which is great because I hate being cold at night and depending on when I’m camping, it gets chilly and I’d rather be warm than cold.

REI Helix Insulated Air Sleeping Pad

$169

Unless you like sleeping on rocks, you need a sleeping pad. I love this sleeping pad too because you don’t need to spend forever blowing it up. Only a few puffs and you’re good to go!

REI Trailmade Mummy Bag

$24.95

I feel like this purchase is self explanatory, but here it is. Sleep well with this inflatable comfortable camping pillow!

Jetboil Cooking System

$129.95

This is the go-to for all things camping and cooking. Within minutes you have boiling water and hot cooked food. Definitely a must-have and something I’ll be purchasing this REI sale!

MSR Fuel Canister

$5.95

What’s a Jetboil without the fuel? Don’t forget to pack these on your next camping adventure! Not speaking from experience or anything, but it can be easily forgotten.

GSI 3-Piece Stainless Cutlery Set

$17.50

Love this stainless cutlery set because no matter what you are cooking it won’t break. I’ve broken a few plastic knives and forks before on camping trips and don’t love it. These are small, fit well in a bag and don’t break.

Rumpl NanoLoft Puffy Travel Blanket

$95

Whether or not you are camping, a puffy travel blanket is such a necessity, especially in Vermont. Those cool nights sitting out under the stars, or wanting to get warm after a cool river dip, these blankets are a must-have.

ENO DoubleNest Hammock

$74.95

Why a hammock? Instead of bringing a tent on a camping trip, I’ve brought a hammock and slept in it. Very comfortable and packs well in comparison to a tent. Even if you don’t sleep in it, it is such a nice way to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

MPOWERD Luci Inflatable Solar Lantern

$29.95

This lantern is a MUST HAVE item on any camping trip. Not only is it incredibly light and compactible, it’s solar. Leave it out all day in the sun and then use it at night. The solar battery lasts a while too. I haven’t “charged” mine for a couple of days and it’s still working great at night. It is also easy to hang from top of tent.
